This Privacy Policy describes how personal information is handled in the applications, tools, websites, and services operated by Andrew Nguyen (also published under the account name “ampersandru”) — collectively, “the Apps” or “the Services.” It applies to all Apps and Services I operate unless a specific application presents its own policy. By using an App, you agree to the practices described here.
The Apps are primarily personal, self-hosted, or local-first tools. I only collect the data that a specific App actually needs to function. Depending on the App, this may include:
I do not collect sensitive personal data unless a specific App clearly shows it is collecting it at the point of use.
Information is used only to operate, secure, and improve the specific App you are using — to sign you in, provide the requested feature, store or sync the content you create, and diagnose issues. I do not sell your personal information, use it for advertising, or combine it across my Apps for profiling.
Some Apps use Google APIs and Google Sign-In. When an App requests access to your Google Account, it asks only for the specific Google scopes shown on the Google authorization screen at that moment. I use Google account data solely to authenticate you and to provide the feature you requested, and I do not share it with unrelated third parties. You can review and revoke access to any App at any time in your Google Account settings (myaccount.google.com/permissions).
Many of my Apps run on infrastructure I control and keep your data within that App. A small number of Apps may rely on third-party services you explicitly connect (for example, a Google Account or another provider). Where an App connects to a third-party service, that service’s own terms and privacy policy also apply. I do not sell or otherwise share your personal information with third parties for their own independent purposes.
I keep data only as long as needed to provide the App you are using, or as required by law. For self-hosted or local-first Apps, you can usually delete your own content directly within the App. If you ask me to remove data tied to you, I will delete it unless a specific App requires it to operate.
Apps may use cookies or local/browser storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. These are used for functionality, not for advertising or cross-site tracking.
I take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including access controls and transport encryption where supported. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but I work to safeguard your data in proportion to its sensitivity.
The Apps are general-purpose tools intended for a general audience and are not directed at children under 13. I do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
You can access, export, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, and revoke Google authorizations at any time (see Section 3). To exercise any of these, contact me using the address below.
I may update this Policy to reflect changes to the Apps or for legal reasons. When I do, I will revise the “Effective date” above. Continued use of an App after an update means accepting the revised Policy.
